When should I get there?
Although the exact starting time is still to be determined, officials can plan on starting at around 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 1st. Any official traveling from out of town should plan on arriving on July 1st. if you plan on attending Dan Romeo's 7 man mechanics presentation. Friday is a day off for most but we may work in a group activity. Saturday and Sunday we will be going most of the day.
Where will the clinic be held?
Aloha Stadium is the target venue for the field portion of the clinic but we are waiting on the state to let us know if the turf will be ready. The class portion(s) of the clinic held at UH so please block out all of Sat and Sunday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We may have games on Saturday in addition to Sunday.
What should I wear?
Dress for Saturday instruction is casual. Our schrimmage mechanics can be worked in black shorts. Field work on the second day is full uniform with NCAA gear. A piped hat is preferred, but hats with league logos or patches are allowed.
Who Should Attend?
The aloha clinic is open to any level official who is interested in honing skills, developing skills, and making friends. The aloha clinic has a few spaces open for new officials at the FJ position, while more experienced officials will benefit from the instruction and feedback form our great instructors.
I am not from Hawaii, am I still welcome?
The Aloha Clinic welcomes officials from anywhere in the world to attend.
Will housing be provided?
Housing will be the responsibility of each official attending. If you are interested in using the clinic hotel the price is very reasonable and you can make a reservation on the hotel web site. Thank Dan Bayne for this service. Valet Parking at the Park Shore Waikiki is required. Daily rate is $22. For the adventuresome, there is free on-street parking on the other side of the zoo and at the Waikiki Shell Parking Lot 1 1/2 blocks away.
Will I have time on the field?
The Aloha Clinic boasts some of the most scrimmages of any clinic.
How much does it cost?
The earlier you register the less expensive it is. Exact prices are listed on our registration form.
How do I register?
Registration is by mail. Fill out the registration form and mail it to the address on the form along with a check for the registration fees made payable to HFOA.
How do I get to the clinic?
Costs are kept low by allowing officials to make their own transportation and hotel arrangements. These arrangements are your responsibility. If you are interested in a room-mate or car-pooling you may find one on the Aloha Clinic message boards.
What should I bring?
You should bring your uniform and materials for taking notes during the Saturday lectures. Weather will be hot in July so plan your clothing accordingly.
